I run for my cousin Amy
While I was still quite young myself, my even younger cousin Amy was diagnosed with brain cancer. We lived thousands of miles away, so I cannot say that we were particularly close. What I remember most vividly of Amy's illness is that my mother went to stay with her brother for a while... to provide support, to help to look after my other cousins while my uncle & aunt were with Amy in the hospital.Amy was just a little girl when she died. Too young.
Mile #15 I run in memory of Amy; and in support of my uncle & aunt who continue to advocate and fund-raise for the pediatric oncology department at the hospital where Amy received treatment.
